Before you start asking the nanny questions, you may want to describe your living situation.  Explain your needs and what you are looking for and get a sense of her reaction. 

Here are some questions you may want to ask the prospective nanny ...

- Why do you wish to be a nanny?

- What are your childcare experiences?

- How many children do you currently care for and what are their ages?

- What was your childhood like growing up?

- Do you smoke?

- Do you have any family members or friends in Canada?  If so, where are they located?

- What type of activities do you like to do with children?

- What do you like to do in your spare time?

- Can you cook?
